What is the difference between external blinds and external roller shutters?
External blinds consist of individual slats that can be tilted in various directions. You can thereby regulate the incoming light, protect against the sun´s rays while ventilating at the same time. Slats tilted to the horizontal position do not block your view of the outdoors.
External roller shutters area also made from slats, which are, however, connected to create a continuous vertical plate. When the roller shutters are pulled down they create absolute darkness in the room and they can´t be tilted. If you wish to let light into the room, you can lower them just halfway down the window.
What is the difference between slat types Z and C on external blinds?
The difference is primarily in the shape of the slats, where the letter indicates the shape of the slat. Our external blind Z-90 Noval and Z-70 have a Z-shaped slat and a bent shape that ensures perfect fitting closure of the slats and thereby also excellent shading of the interior.
Blinds C-60 and C-80 have a curved shape of the letter C and can be easily tilted to both sides, similarly as with Venetian blinds.
Do I need a building permit or declaration for the Espacio pergola?
Our Espacio pergola can be disassembled and therefore it is not necessary to have a building permit. A permit is not required even on a fixed pergola up to 25 m² in area (see §103 of Act No. 183/2006 Coll.). If one side is adjacent to the boundary of your parcel, then this is rather a question for the municipal authorities where you live.

What kind of maintenance does the Varieta Zebra (i.e. night & day roller shutter) fabric roller shutter require?
The product does not require demanding maintenance or lubrication of the control mechanisms. It is good to first vacuum away any dust using a hand or standard vacuum cleaner set to the lowest power. Alternatively, you can use a soft clothes brush.
Wash any dirty spots on the fabric roller shutter night and day using a soft cloth and a soap solution. It is important that you only use soap solutions without any chemical additives at a temperature no higher than 30 degrees. The cloth should be damp, not wet. Pull it from edge to edge to clean the fabric on both sides.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents such as organic solvents, thinners, sand cleaners, cleaning pastes, steam cleaners, etc. Do not iron the fabrics because their surface is impregnated.
Do you test products before launch?
All our products are always thoroughly tested, under the highest load. Testing is performed on cycle counts, with one cycle including one pulling-out and retraction. According to the standard, the service life is 10,000 cycles, but we test our products for a higher number. E.g. Unirol C and Unirol R vertical façade awnings can handle incredible 48,000 cycles and persist up to 66 years. Our Venetian blinds are tested for 65,000 cycles.

When making a complaint, please always contact the installation company from whom you purchased the shading technology and who installed the product for you.
